Events at MESA

The tech-fest aptly named ‘PRAVEG’19 – Annual Technomanagement Fest’ was
organized with this aim by the Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association (MESA)
under the aegis of Mechanical Engineering Department, School of Engineering, Institute
of Technology, Nirma University. Many dignitaries throughout the years have been welcomed to this grand event, along
with the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and National Security Guards have
set up an exhibition of their weapons and models to explain the technology and working
of forces to the young engineers. Many students have visited the exhibition and gained
detail understanding about how the defence forces work.

RIME

Recent Innovation in Mechanical Engineering, RIME 2021, was a 2-day extravagant e-conference with all the bells and whistles despite the course of pandemic. This event was hosted during the 24th and 25th of July, 2021, and was organized by Mechanical Engineering Students Association, MESA. The event was held on an online platform, and was also streamed live on YouTube. RIME 2021 received a whopping 35 papers from all around the country, and 21 research papers were selected to be published in the e-proceedings with ISBN number. These papers were from diverse fields in mechanical engineering, including material science, hydrogen internal combustion engine, boiler technologies, CFD analysis, robotics, metal forming and many more.

MESA DAY

“MESA Day” is the annual event wherein the Mechanical family comes together to celebrate the foundation of the club. MESA day marks the end of an era for the students of 4th year and gives them a memorable farewell with many events lined up for them
including dancing, singing and acting performances. It is a day filled with fun, enjoyment
and knowledge as students from final year share their experiences in the institute and
faculties shed their role as teachers but rather become their friends and share their
experiences with students. A “Project Exhibition” is also organised on this day which
gives the students of the department an opportunity to showcase their projects, which
have won many awards on state and national level, to the chief guest and students. The
best two projects were awarded with cash prize.

POSTER PRESENTATION

A Poster Presentation Competition was organised by MESA for UG and PG students on 28th February 2023. The participants displayed posters of their innovative ideas to the judges and visitors. The event was evaluated based on a combination of judges’ points and visitors’ poll. The best posters in both categories, UG and PG received a cash prize, a trophy, and a winner certificate.

अभ्युदय 2023

अभ्युदय 2023 was inaugurated in the august presence of Dr.K.M.Patel, Head Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Technology, Nirma University; Dr.B.A.Modi, Professor, Mechanical Engineering Dept., Institute of Technology, Nirma University and Mr.Sunil Pandi, III Cell, Institute of Technology, Nirma University. अभ्युदय 2023 is a mock placement drive initiated by Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association in collaboration with III Cell, Institute of Technology, Nirma University. The program started on 9th March 2023 and will continue till 28th March 2023. During this program, various activities like aptitude test, group discussion, debate, mock interviews etc. will be conducted for all the participants and they will be provided the feedback about their performance with points to improve. The aim to organize this program is to prepare the pre final year students for placements and higher studies. The program will give the participants an experience of appearing in the placement activities and will prepare them to face the interviews.
